Feelings Yoga
Express feelings through yoga poses! Yoga is an excellent way to explore our feelings when we are not able to find the right words for them.
This activity video is available from March 15, 2021 to April 18, 2021.
Engage with Eyes
Have someone else do a pose that shows a feeling. Guess what feeling they are trying to show.
Engage with Movement
Follow the poses in the video, or make up your own! Use different muscles and body parts to try feelings yoga poses.
Try different positions, such as sitting, standing, and laying down.
Engage with Conversations
Think of words that show different feelings. As you try the yoga poses, talk about when you have those feelings and ways you can express them.
Identity Flag Making and Dance with DEAFinitely Crew!
Who are you? What is your identity? What are you proud of?
Our friends at DEAFinitely, Inc. explored these questions with us during the Wavin’ Flag project. Art materials were provided to remote and in-school Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and Deaf mentors supported kids as they created personal flags representing their identities, including their countries, cultures, languages, and interests.
Check out the videos, and then ask yourself and your child the question—what is your identity? Make identity flags and dance with DEAFinitely Crew!
DEAFinitely, Inc.is a non-profit organization that serves Deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, deaf-disabled, and hearing youth representing multi-lingual, cultural, racial, and socio-economic diversity.

Freeze Dance
Dancing is fun! You can add an additional challenge by doing freeze dance! Dance while the music is playing, stop when the music stops, and then dance again when the music begins! Freeze dance helps a child learn how to follow directions and control their body in a fun way.
Materials Hunt
Fabric, plastic, paper, cardboard, metal, wood… How many different types of materials do you think you can find in your home? See how many materials you can identify on a giant Materials Hunt!
After finding different types of materials, try using them to make a collage or a small world! You can also take pictures of things that cannot be touched or moved, and make a “materials hunt” photo album!
More Activities to Try
Drum Circle
Use a bucket, bin, pillow, or even your own lap to join the drum circle!
(There are some brief disruptions in the sound recording. Just keep on drumming!)
Shape Hunt
Look around the room you are in. What shapes can you find?
To make the shape hunt more fun, use a piece of paper and drawing materials like markers or crayons to make art with different shapes.
